Best path: keep a Social_Ready master before the first platform. Lemon8 save is a derivative . If you already posted Lemon8 from an unclean Meitu export, Instagram does not inherit a “Lemon8 blessed” file - it inherits whatever you just saved.
Meitu/CapCut stills that fed Lemon8: Meitu export metadata , CapCut photo export . Clean the Instagram attach file , which may no longer be those exports.
Why Instagram still labels
Lemon8 covers often started as Meitu AI , CapCut template , Jimeng , or Canva . Those writes C2PA/XMP . Saving from Lemon8 is not a documented strip. Compression may drop EXIF and leave credentials, or wrap a new software tag.

Workflow
- If you still have the pre-Lemon8 export, prefer cleaning that and uploading identical bytes to IG (skip gallery save).
- If you only have the Lemon8 save, treat it as the master: inspect in the AI metadata checker , then strip C2PA/XMP .
- Album IG_Ready. Instagram picker: only that album.
- Do not apply Lemon8 in-app restyle, re-save, then pick the new restyle for IG.
- Carousel: every slide you saved from the note, not just the cover.
Threads: same cleaned bytes if the file is unchanged.
