Recraft & Pixelcut Listing Photo Metadata

August 18, 2026

Recraft vs Pixelcut vs Photoroom (file, not feature)

App

What you usually download

Why tags appear

Recraft

Generative mockup, brand kit still, vector-to-PNG

Model/export provenance on the raster

Pixelcut

Phone listing studio export (hero, variants)

Editor/AI pipeline XMP or C2PA on save

Photoroom

Cutout / studio backdrop

Segmentation SaaS credentials - other URL

Recraft is closer to Ideogram (generative graphic) than to a cutout app. Pixelcut is closer to a mobile listing desk : you still upload their JPG, not your camera RAW.

Ideogram stills: Ideogram metadata for Pinterest and Instagram .

Where sellers actually send the file

Etsy + Photoshop path (different editor): Etsy listing photos after Photoshop .

Recraft: mockup is the product photo

A Recraft “scene” of the mug on a table is a generated or heavily model-assisted still. Instagram will often treat the file as AI-provenance even when you photographed the mug last year and only used Recraft for the set. Keep:

Do not round-trip Social_Ready back into Recraft “for one more variation.” That writes a new export.

Pixelcut: listing export, not a cutout lesson

Pixelcut’s job in this article is the exported hero you attach to a SKU . Whether you used backdrop tools is irrelevant to the upload scanner. If the AI metadata checker shows C2PA/XMP on that export, strip it. Then upload that file. Do not document how to key the product - Photoroom already owns that search.

Avoid: export from Pixelcut → Canva template → Instagram. Canva can add another credential layer. Canva export and Instagram .

Catalog batch

A drop of 24 SKUs is two browser batches of 30. Name files SKU_hero_Social_Ready.jpg . Mix Recraft lifestyle and Pixelcut packshot in one folder only after both types are stripped - one dirty Recraft lifestyle in a carousel of packshots is enough.

After the listing is live

Marketplaces and Instagram do not let you patch metadata in place. Replace the image with the cleaned master (new listing photo / new IG post or product-image replace where the platform allows).

For Recraft mockups and listing rasters, strip C2PA and XMP on that file, then finish on the Recraft export hub (browser cleaner, then the same file to the shop or Instagram). Pixelcut exports use the same strip step on the Pixelcut file. Not legal advice; not a substitute for marketplace AI-content rules.

Upload Recraft or Pixelcut listing rasters without leftover AI file tags

Export the listing still, strip C2PA/XMP, upload that copy to the shop and social.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the same as Photoroom background removal?

No. Photoroom is a cutout/segmentation export. Recraft is generative layouts and mockups. Pixelcut is listing-studio exports. Clean the file each app writes; do not reuse a Photoroom-only checklist as the title of this job.

Do Recraft PNGs trigger Instagram or Etsy AI labels?

Recraft downloads often include C2PA or XMP. Instagram can show AI Info; marketplaces may classify listing images. Strip tags on the raster you upload.

Should I strip Pixelcut files if I only changed background?

If Pixelcut wrote provenance into the export, yes - you are uploading that file, not “a photo of a mug.” This is file hygiene, not a how-to on removing backgrounds.

Can I use one cleaned master on Etsy and Instagram?

Yes. One Social_Ready JPG/PNG for the listing and the shop post. Do not re-export from Recraft or Pixelcut for the social crop. Remove AI Label Team
