What Adobe Firefly adds to your images
Adobe co-founded the Content Authenticity Initiative, and Firefly attaches Content Credentials to the images it generates. Photoshop generative features can record AI edits the same way.
Markers and metadata
| Marker | What it is |
|---|---|
| Content Credentials (C2PA) | Names Adobe Firefly and declares the content as created or edited with generative AI. |
| IPTC digital source type | Marks the image as "trained algorithmic media" (created with generative AI) or a composite with AI. |
Because Adobe tools also record generative fill and similar edits, real photos edited with these features can carry "edited with AI" credentials.
Check a Adobe Firefly file
Drop the file into the AI metadata checker to see its Content Credentials, IPTC tags, prompts and any private details. It runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.
