What Midjourney adds to your images
Midjourney files can carry text metadata such as the prompt and job details, depending on how they were downloaded. Meta has named Midjourney among the companies whose AI metadata it reads.
Markers and metadata
| Marker | What it is |
|---|---|
| Text metadata | Prompt and job information can be saved in the file description fields. |
| AI metadata | Whether IPTC or C2PA markers are present depends on the version and export. The checker shows what your file has. |
If you do not want your prompt to travel with the image, check the file before sharing it.
Check a Midjourney file
Drop the file into the AI metadata checker to see its Content Credentials, IPTC tags, prompts and any private details. It runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.
