What Stable Diffusion adds to your images
Local Stable Diffusion apps save generation details right inside the PNG file. Anyone who opens the file in a metadata viewer can read your prompt, seed, model and settings.
Markers and metadata
| Marker | What it is |
|---|---|
| PNG "parameters" text | Automatic1111 and Forge store the prompt, negative prompt, seed, sampler and model. |
| PNG "prompt" and "workflow" | ComfyUI stores the full node graph, which can be loaded back into ComfyUI. |
| Invisible watermark | Some pipelines add an invisible watermark; many local setups do not. |
The parameters identify the image as AI-generated. Our photo metadata remover keeps them for that reason; if you do not want to share your prompt, export without metadata from your app.
Check a Stable Diffusion file
Drop the file into the AI metadata checker to see its Content Credentials, IPTC tags, prompts and any private details. It runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.

Stable Diffusion metadata FAQ
Can people see my Stable Diffusion prompt?
Yes, if the PNG still contains its parameters. Check the file with the AI metadata checker.
